Moises Saman Attacked By Police in Tunisia
While on assignment for the New York Times in Tunisia, Magnum photographer Moises Saman was attacked by a group of police officers, a post today on the Times’ Lens blog said.
Saman was photographing police as they beat a protester when the officers turned on him. Saman suffered “mild” injuries, the report said.
Earlier this month, European Press Photo Agency stringer Lucas Dolega was killed in Tunisia during protests that led to the dissolution of the government of Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali. Dolega was shot with a tear gas canister at close range and later died of his wounds in a hospital.

If they can single them ( Police) on video footage, they need to expose them to the Tunisian Government and the World.
It will be a reality check and a test of the Tunisian Officials sincerity in Freeing the flow of information.

The only equipment I would bring to shoot with in Tunisia is an AR-15. Hellhole.

I saw a blog somewhere yesterday that re-posted a message from Tunisian residents asking for help, they were claiming that the soldiers causing the violence were not Tunisian. They were part of some sort of “international militia for hire” that had been hired to enforce the will of the government. They thought they had been trained here in the States. Will re-post if I can find the link…
