Feeling in need of artistic inspiration? Well we’ve got just the remedy for you this weekend! Head out to DUMBO in Brooklyn and follow the 1,000 foot long outdoor photographic installation, “The Fence” along the Brooklyn Bridge Park out to Photoville—a new pop-up photographic village that repurposes shipping containers as photo galleries.

In its inaugural year, the festival—held in more than 30 shipping containers—is a fantastic mix of thoughtfully-curated fine art, documentary, photojournalism and conceptual photographic works. The festival, which ends this Sunday, includes panel discussions, workshops, a beer garden and even a dog run. The community vibe is welcoming, and best of all, the event is free to the public!

We stopped by PDN’s “The Curator” party last night to see what the buzz is all about. For a detailed lineup of the weekend’s events, visit: www.photovillenyc.org
