Kymberly Marciano Sets Brand and Style for Street to Gym SOLOW Activewear

For years, Kymberly Marciano’s photography and creative direction have led the way in opening the magical and energetic inner worlds of children and adolescents. Marciano has always created imagery that is rooted in her own life experiences, memories and lends a narrative to each shoot.  She started out as a globetrotting model but is now a mother, philanthropist, photographer and creative director (for 14 years plus.) She is a trend setter and fashion insider who is able to identify new and emerging talent.

Recognizing talent along with her intuitive approach to photography and creative direction, have made Marciano understand the importance of brand building. In early 2004, She helped to expand Guess Kids into a global lifestyle brand shooting their advertising campaigns for the US, Asia, and European markets for 3 consecutive years and was fortunate to create images and campaigns for clients such as Ralph Lauren, The Children’s Place, Vogue Bambini, Khols, Child and Model Magazines along the way.

Her work with emerging celebrities at a young age like Gigi Hadid, Bella Thorne, Kathryn Newton, Elle Fanning and Victoria Justice led her to her newest projects.  Word of mouth, which is so important in the entertainment community, got Marciano the job to  photograph and help rebrand a talented young singer named Camryn last fall.  Camryn is an almost 15-year-old pop singer who has toured with One Direction, Greyson Chance and the Aussie fave Cody Simpson. When  Camryn’s mother saw Marciano’s images and the way she worked, she hired her on the spot to help with the rebranding of  her own fashion company SOLOW.

SOLOW is fashion, fitness and function all rolled into one.  Marciano lent her creative vision and creative direction to encompass and essentially create the SOLOW girl.  SOLOW’s  "Street to Gym" tag line encompasses a fabulous look that has style and personality.  She started with a summer season lookbook, and as each season progresses Marciano plans to innovate and take the company in new directions.  She is already looking at the SOLOW brand as a trendy way to dress up or down, and this fall she is getting a little edgier. The SOLOW girl can create her own look by mixing and matching colors and layering garments that are comfortable and elegant for workouts but also function as cover ups to and from the studio, day or night. The signature Eclon performance fabric used is wicking and Blue-Sign certified sustainable and supports all kinds of athletic activities from Pilates to yoga, spinning, hiking, running, core fusion, and anything else that works and tones the body.


 
This was Marciano’s first women's shoot as creative director and photographer, as she has focused mainly on kids and adolescent fashion and lifestyle. SOLOW does not have an in-house art or creative director, so she was extremely excited to take on the challenge and collaborate with CEO and Founder, Sarah Siegal Magness and her technical design team. “I found it gave me an entirely different attachment to the brand. Wearing two hats isn't new to me, but in this case, I was hired to do two jobs,” says Marciano.

Challenges always abound with moving gear, motorhomes and talent and even a controlling city controller on this shoot, but Marciano got her shots on time with her Canon EOS 5D Mark III, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM AutoFocus Telephoto Zoom Lens silks, and  her favorite California Sunbounce ZEBRA reflector.

The SOLOW assignment started with their summer campaign, and Marciano has followed up with work on their fall and holiday collections, with a new resort collection in the works.  Her dynamic images will be used for a myriad of things, including website, lookbooks, promo pieces, posters for all social media platforms, press and more.
